PLAYER ELIGIBILITY
- Each team must have 3 or 4 players on their roster and be
registered as a team by the pre-determined entry deadline.
- No player is allowed to currently be playing for a
college, semi-pro or professional team.
- Eligibility problems will be addressed from the time of
discovery. No replay of games or adjustment will be allowed
for previous tournament games and standings involving the team
in question.
- No player will be allowed to play if believed to be under
the influence of drugs or alcohol.
- Minimum age 16 with parent consent.
PRE-GAME
- All games must start with at least 3 players but can be
completed with less.
- Both teams will warm-up at the same time prior to the
game.
- Only those teams scheduled to play are allowed to occupy
the court at the scheduled time.
- Teams MUST be at their court at their scheduled time, even
if games are “running behind.”
SCORING
- A field goal is worth (1) point, if shot from anywhere in
the playing area.
- Games are played to 16 points – win by 2 or first team to
20, or team ahead after 20 minutes, wins.
- In case if a tie at the end of 20 minutes, there will be a
coin flip to determine possession and the first basket wins.
LIVE BALL / DEAD BALL / POSSESSION
- A coin flip before the start of the game will determine
who gets the ball out-of-bounds first. The Team on the top of
the bracket will call the coin toss.
- The ball will change possession after every scored basket.
- All jump balls will be called by the referee and will go
to the team on defense.
- The top of the backboard is out –of-bounds; however the
sides and bottom of the backboard are in play.
- An opposing player must check the ball before it is put in
play. The player must pass the ball from the top of the court
to put the ball in play.
- The ball must be taken out of the lane on every change of
possession. Violation occurs only if the basket is made by the
team failing to properly “ take it back”, and will result in
loss of point scored and possession to the other team.
- “Taking back,” means out of the lane.
FOULS AND VIOLATIONS
- Every court will have a referee. The referee will call all
foul and violations.
- If a foul is called while a player is attempting a shot
and the basket is made then count the basket, if the shot is
missed the shooter, ball goes back to the shooting team
- A referee can call a technical foul for flagrant,
intentional fouls. A dead ball technical foul shot will be
awarded to the team fouled. The team captain selects the
shooter for one shot from the free throw line. The shooting
team also retains possession of the ball following the free
throw, whether the shot is made or missed
- Continual misconduct or flagrant/ intentional fouling will
result in immediate dismissal of the guilty player or teams
from the particular game and / or all remaining games at the
discretion of tournament officials. Fighting and or throwing a
punch will not be tolerated under ANY circumstances and will
result in immediate dismissal without refund
TIME-OUT AND SUBSTITUTIONS
- Each team is allowed (2) 30 second time-outs per game.

- Player substitution is permitted during any dead ball
situation
DUTIES OF COURT REFEREE
- The team captain is the sole spokesperson for his/her
team.
- Any questions, complaints, or comments shall be taken up
with the court referee.
- Higher authority cannot change the judgment decisions of
the court referee. Only questions concerning rules
interpretation or eligibility are appeal able.
- Once play resumes after a disagreement or appeal, the
decision is considered to be final. No further appeals will be
allowed on that incident.
RULES FOR FREE THROW CONTEST
- No player can be currently on a college, semi-pro or
professional team.
- Males will use regulation size men’s basketballs and
ladies will use regulation size ladies basketballs.
- Each shooter will be given 10 shots that are recorded. The
shooter in each category that makes the most shots wins. In
the event one or more of the players make the same amount of
shots 10 additional shots will be given to each player until
there is a winner.
RULES FOR THREE POINT SHOOT-OUT
- Five balls are placed around the three point line.
- Each shooter has 75 seconds to shoot as many balls as
possible.
- All shots must be taken with both feet of the shooter
behind and not on the three point line.
- Each of the balls count as three points.
- The shooter with the most three point shots in will be the
winner, in the event there is a tie five additional shoots
will be given to each shooter until we have a winner.
RULES FOR SLAM DUNK COMPETITION
- Each competitor will attempt three dunks per round.
- Judges will score each dunk ranging from 1 to 10 points
per dunk with a maximum score of 30 per round.
- Competitors will have 24 seconds to attempt each dunk.
- Judging is based on style, athletic ability and
creativity.
- The top 1/3 of the first round will proceed to the second
round.
- The person scoring the most points in the second round
will be declared the winner.
RULES FOR HALF COURT SHOT
- No player can be currently on a college, semi-pro or
professional team.
- Males will use regulation size men’s basketballs and
ladies will use regulation size ladies basketballs.
- Each participant will have one chance for a shot from
beyond the half court line.
- If more than one participant makes this shot the $100.00
will be split between the winners.
